Kevin Willis: "I like this kid, he reminds me of Dirk Nowitzky when he was just beginning maybe... He's tough, don't seem very euro to me. Has a lot of room for improvement, though."
Scottie Pippen: "This guy's awesome, he's just so quiet and he gets the job done. I've seen him shut down opponents at nights, but then loose it against smaller guys like Tayshaun Prince or Jefferson. He has a very nice midrange jumper."
Steve Kerr: "The guy comes from a vicious family, his parents were apparently famous criminals back in europe, so it's just great to see him here, in the U.S. performing like an American. Makes you feel kinda proud to give a chance to a guy like that and to see how grateful he is, just to be here, in this country, to be with us, to contribute..." (microphone stripped from his hands)
Jamaal Mashburn: "I knew his sister... wow... that was one hot chick, maaan, I tell you! But Fil, he's just so confident, he tries and finds the ways to kill you on both sides of the court. I'd definitely pick him over any other Euro, exept for Dirk and, maybe Peja."
Scott Pollard: "I'll tell you a story. I think that story pretty much sums it up. We were playing Memphis and Jamaal (Tinsley) fired from downtown. I saw he was gonna miss, so I ran from the three point line, where I was standing, stumbled a few times, pulled a couple of elbows and somehow managed to get the offensive rebound, getting behind Gassol and Fil. My grip was just too weak and the ball slipped from my hands, falling right into Fil's arms. He just smiled, maaan, I'll remember that smile, and he gave me the ball, though he made it look like a turnover, he just offered me the ball on a silver plate, ya know what I mean, it was just a fraction of a second, but I understood, I knew. I took the ball and then he whispered. "There, you deserved it." What he meant was that it would not be fair for him to take advantage of an accident, since I made all the effort to get to the damn ball." I took the ball, made a dribble, just to realize that the ball was no longer in my hands. Fil made a steal and went off for a jam. That's like Fil, man. D'you get it?"
Byron Scott: "Fil's presence is certainly been a major factor for the environment and for the community in Memphis. I could never enphasize his impact enough. The franchise will benefit from his efforts."
Harold Miner: "I like the guy... he's got that something that separates the men from the boys. I just hope he doesn't make any mistakes, if you know what I mean. I' ve made some mistakes, but I'm fine now, really."
Isiah Thomas: "This is not a guy we would want to have around. The New York Knicks now have a solid foundation, something to build around, and I just don't see this european banger fittin'in. I'm sorry. This conference is over!"
Kako? Ne... ha, ha, ha, naravno! Naravno. Mislio sam na Filipovića."
